What a lovely way to start the weekend!
I left a snack pack pudding on my desk in the kitchen, while I was working in the front room.
Fast forward 45 minutes...

Koa's turning ONE!

Koa's first birthday party was a success! We had such a
good time with our family and friends that were able to come
and spend an afternoon with us. The weather was
perfect, right up until we were starting to pack up, and
then came the rain!

For the refreshments I made cakeballs in orange, cotton candy, chocolate, mint chocolate and strawberry.

I love soda floats and wanted to do a bit of a kickback to soda shops with cream sodas of orange cream, blue cream, red cream, root beer
and watermelon cream.

The color really drew people in and the treats were a hit!

All of the kids had a blast running around the huge lawn at my MIL's. There were lawn games, the boys threw the football around and a lot of visiting and catching up.
I still can't believe that my baby is ONE! We love her so much and are so glad every single day that she is ours.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOA!

First Brithday Party

Koa turned 1 on the 19th (while I was in China). I am so excited to
be throwing her her first birthday party. I know that she won't really
remember
it, my husband would say, it is more for me
than for her, but I disagree. Although I love to entertain and throw a good party, I
want this to be a time for our friends and family to celebrate Koa with
us, and for us to spend time with them.

I will post pictures of the event next week!

my baby is a model...

I recently worked on a photo shoot for the debut of the JJ Cole Boutique diaper bag line. Here is a sneak peek at the bags that will be available this fall.

koa emerson had a "huge" opportunity to be a model on this
shoot. There wasn't too much diva behavior on her part, only when
she got hungry... Really though, she is very patient with me and all
that I have put her through the last 10 months. I am lucky to
have such a happy, happy little lady!

I almost donated my vintage turquoise suitcases to charity a couple
months ago, so glad I didn't!

At this point in the day, koa was getting pretty tired, but she soldiered on.

You can't really tell from the photos, even though we had a
clear day, it was windy and fairly cold.

koa patiently waiting on the sidelines.

It was such a fun shoot to work on, and we got some lovely images.
