ABC Kids Expo 2011: Nursery

Nursery

With so many pretty cribs furniture in the baby industry, it is hard to choose just one look or style.

Dutalier

They have a closed booth at the show and since I am technically and exhibitor, I can't get into their booth. Thankfully, others can and share what they have. Dutalier is showing a lot of new and stunning new nursery sets.

I love that quilt hanging on the crib--so simple and pretty.

Great colors

Petit Nest

Lovely new dresser. I want it for my room

Ubabub

I have had them on my blog before, so you can imagine how ecstatic I was when Daniel showed up right next to us at the show! He had an inspirational story too about how he and his wife started their company. He said that they felt like they weren't where they wanted to be, so they got away from the house and left their 3 girls with family while they sat down and went over their core priorities and goals. Talked about where they wanted to be in 10, 20 years and worked backward from there to make some life plans. Awesome.

I love, love the nifty. I can't wait for them to get distribution here in the US!

Million Dollar Baby

They have a lot of great products lines under the parent company. Million dollar baby, DaVinci, Nurseryworks & baby letto. The last two are my favorites of their lines, and their new products do not disappoint!
How cool. The green is a bit strong for me, but I would love it in a gray or cream!

Looks similar to the Oeuf crib, but costs a fraction at $349

Such a wide range of beautiful styles within the lines. Thank you to Eric for walking me through it all!

Dwell Studio

I thought that a lot of their new style were less juvenile that I like, or maybe I'm just not cool enough to get it, but I do think that this was a pretty new girl set. I bit Scandinavian to me.

Oilo Studio

I love the mother/daughter team behind Oilo. They are awesome. I always want to champion other Utah based companies. They have such beautiful crib sets and added a few more this year along with some layette and other great nursery products. They will be available in spring 2012.

Finally, I liked this color pallet from Argington. Pretty and fresh for a girls room.

ABC Kids Expo 2011: Function

FUNCTION

From the thousands of products shown at the ABC Kids Expo 2011, I picked out a few of my favorite functional new products.

There are a lot of gimmick products at this show, and at first I thought that this one was too, but it is a great design. It is a piece that goes inside of bottles to store formula while you are out with your baby. When you need to make the bottle, instead of juggling the formula, bottle and baby, you just take out the bottle and push the release for the formula to drop into the water and shake. Genius. This would have saved me a few times. The insert is compatible with Playtex, Born Free Mam, Dr. and Dr. Browns wide neck bottles.

Boon Naked

Super cool looking but also a very functional bath tub. You know the silicone measuring cups that collapse flat? This tub has the same function. Collapses fairly flat for storage and also ha
s a hook for hanging. It has two positions for the baby to be in. You can keep one of the sides flush so that your babies head can be propped up when they are really little and then you can pop the entire tub down as they get older. Naked in 5 colors and will be available late December.

Boon Stem & Twig

If you already have the boon grass or lawn, you will love these new pieces. I have the grass, the smaller of the bot
tle drying racks from Boon. Though I love the product, I always run out of space by the time I wash the bottles and the nipples for them, and now I have sippies taking up some space on them too. I had considered buying lawn instead, but I don't have a lot of counter top real estate as it is. Now, with the stem and twig I don't have to give up that space.
I was able to bring home a couple of the stems (flowers) from the show and they have made all the difference. Now recommending these products to all within earshot! Functional and pretty. Stem & Twig will also be available late December.

Soapster from Skip Hop

Existing product made cute. There are so many new products in bath to make it fun and easy and this does both.

First, I could see this for general baby soap attached to the tub wall with a baby, when and you don't have enough hands to open and pour the soap while holding the baby.

Second, this might get your little ones to be better at washing their own hands.

Puj Tub

This tub by Puj is not new, but the colors are! Katie, the mind behind the puj tub, is one of my favorite people. She is seriously one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. I am so excited to see them rolling out some new products and colors.

I loved my Puj tub with Koa. It is super easy to use, it put her at sink height so that I wasn't bent over the tub trying to bathe her and there is no draining or swashing of water in a container back to the sink. Great for small spaces. We all know how much STUFF we have for babies and kids and how quickly it fills up any extra space or storage in the abode. I actually just stick mine on the side of my clothes washer or dryer since the tub has hidden magnets in it.
I love the turquoise!

OXO tot also has a wipes dispenser that is clean, modern and only allows one wipe to come out at a time. I couldn't find a single image of it, but look for it next year!

3-D playrugs

Tradeshow update:
It takes a full day to travel from Utah to Louisville, KY. Seriously, we left at noon and got to our hotel after 12pm. There is a 2 hour time difference, but still.

Setup always takes way longer than you expect. So there are long
hours and no air conditioning. Luckily, it was a lot cooler in Louisville than it is in Vegas.

Of course, I couldn't find the charger for my camera before I left, so I had battery life for like 2 hours.

5 days away from B and Koa is plenty. I was ready to come home a couple days early from the show and spend a day with the
m before going back to work.

I didn't see these at the show, but I have wanted to put them up on my blog for a while.

3-D playrugs also called IVI rugs

They have a bit of a mid-century mod feel to them and remind me of being a kid. Instead of a toy that lights up, sings, etc. imagination is what brings these rugs to life.

This would be such a cool piece for a nursery that would store easil
y or looks better out than a lot of other toys. Luca and company is an importer and distributor of the Turkish-designed play rugs and give a list of retailers that you can buy them from at $149 a pop.

A cheaper alternative is available at IKEA, not 3-D or as cool, but for 1/10th the price! (lillabo and lekplats)

I will share some of my favorites from the show this week, so check back!

monte ninna nanna bassinet for sale!

I am selling my beautiful bassinet from Monte Design. The piece retails for $400, I will sell it for $250. I used it for just one baby and it is in excellent condition. I loved it with Koa because it is so light weight and can easily be moved throughout the house. Great for using at the bedside for the first couple of months. If you or anyone you know is on the lookout for a gorgeous heirloom piece or just a cool modern bassinet, please contact me! jackieo24@gmail.com

ZARA online!

BOYS
BABY GIRL
GIRLS

A couple months ago when I went to China we stopped in
Hong Kong and I went into ZARA for my first
time. I fell in love with their childrens clothes, but
new that I wouldn't be able to get them in Utah--so sad.

But....

Da Na Na Na! (sing it, it will sound better). They launched their online retail site for the US last week, and I couldn't be more excited. So many cute items. Their boys line is so fresh, a
little bit of a grown up look in small sizes.

I put together some of my favorite pieces into little looks, so
much fun. Now I need to have some restraint and remember
that Koa grows out of things in 3-5 months!
